The most common question we get on the phone is some version of “will it fit me?”. We know how every label we stock is cut because we wear them ourselves and fit them on customers every day in Orange and Lucknow. Here's the honest version, brand by brand, so you can order from theoutfitter.au with the same confidence as trying it on.
The short version
Most of our labels use standard Australian women's sizing, 8–20. Two are cut noticeably relaxed (Betty Basics and Orientique – go down a size if you're between). Liverpool jeans use US sizing. All footwear is shown in EU sizing. If anything below doesn't answer your question, call Orange on (02) 9025 9648 or Lucknow on (02) 6325 0955 and a team member will measure the garment for you.
Clothing
Yarra Trail and Marco Polo
Australian labels (Marco Polo is Yarra Trail's sister brand) in standard Australian sizing. Known for easy linen pants, soft knits and printed shirts in natural fibres. Yarra Trail's pull-on pants are the ones our customers buy in three colours.
Betty Basics
Soft cotton and bamboo-blend tees, tanks, dresses and pants. Cut relaxed – if you're between sizes, go down one.
Orientique
Printed dresses and separates in cotton, linen and rayon. Generous, relaxed cut – size down if between sizes. Great for warm weather and travel.
Sass and Fate + Becker
Part of the Sass Collective with Betty Basics. Both use standard Australian sizing.
Gordon Smith
Linen and cotton shirts, pants, dresses and light knits with a relaxed line. Standard Australian sizing 8–20.
Shirty
Shirts, shirt dresses and relaxed jackets in linen, cotton and wool blends, cut with a little extra room by design. Standard Australian sizing.
White Stuff
British label. Printed tees, embroidered tops, knitwear and jeans in organic cotton and natural fibres. Sizing is UK-based and lines up closely with Australian sizing.
Liverpool Los Angeles
Stretch denim with a high rise. Liverpool uses US sizing: US 4 = AU 8, US 6 = AU 10, US 8 = AU 12, US 10 = AU 14, US 12 = AU 16.
ATTE
Australian denim label in standard Australian sizing, with a comfortable rise and real stretch.
Threadz, Cabello, Blue Scarab, Eva's Sunday, LulaSoul, Holmes & Fallon, FOIL, Jump, Zaket & Plover and Fields
All standard Australian sizing. LulaSoul and Eva's Sunday are cut loose and flowing by design, and Zaket & Plover and Fields knitwear are relaxed knits that layer easily.
Footwear
All footwear is listed in EU sizing. The conversion we use: EU 37 = AU 6, EU 38 = AU 7, EU 39 = AU 8, EU 40 = AU 9, EU 41 = AU 10.
ASFVLT
Australian leather sneakers – we stock the Elite Classic, Gate, Grace and City Run. Call us if you'd like a fit check before ordering.
Django & Juliette
Australian leather and suede boots, sandals, loafers and flats in EU sizing.
Walnut Melbourne, Blackstone and Top End
Leather sandals, slides, loafers, flats and boots, all listed in EU sizing.
Accessories
Canopy Bay by Deborah Hutton and Rigon sun hats are mostly one size; where a style comes in more than one size we note it on the product. Louenhide bags, Sito Shades and Otra sunglasses, and Adorne, Holiday and Silk & Steel jewellery are one size.
In store only
Country Road, Witchery, Trenery and Mimco are available in our Orange and Lucknow stores but not on our website.
If it doesn't fit
Full-price items can be exchanged or returned for store credit within 14 days if they're unworn with tags attached, and you can bring online orders into either store with no postage to pay. Full details on our FAQ page. Shipping is $10.50 standard, free on orders of $150 or more, Australia-wide.
